I'm not from St. Louis but I will always recommend Wicke Auto to anyone local or passing through. (If you don't want to read the story just skip to the bottom couple paragraphs) Here's why: I was traveling across Missouri on I-44 during Christmas weekend and the plan was to stay overnight in St. Louis. I had my wife, dog, and 3 month old baby with me. During the trip it was really dark and raining and due to these conditions I hit a shredded semi tire on the road. Within 5 minutes my van was overheating. The radiator was beyond fixing. We limped our way to Joplin and made it to our Air Bnb at midnight. I knew there were several things that could be seriously wrong with the van so I was trying to figure out where to go. I got up at 6 the next morning to start calling around and looking for a shop. After looking at my options and calling about 10 different shops I did not feel confident that any of them would be able to get me back on the road in a timely manner. That was until I called Wicke Auto. After speaking to Jeff at Wicke I knew that these guys would be capable and do everything in their power to get me back on the road. Not only did these guys rush to get my van fixed that morning, they actually went out to get the parts themselves since the shop was closing early due to it being Christmas weekend. They did quality work fast. I'm really thankful I talked to Jeff. He made sure I was taken care of and even gave me a bit of a Christmas gift of a cheaper bill on the repairs. I was able to make it home to my family in Indiana that day. Thank you Wicke Auto crew!

Our daughter goes to school at WashU, and when we dropped her and her car off we took it to Wicke to get an emissions test so we could opt out in our home state. They were very knowledgable about the process and walked us through what we needed to do to avoid having her drive it all the way home every year for an emissions test. Not one other auto shop in St. Louis had any idea of what we needed or how to help us. Today, our daughter dropped by Wicke for a minor repair issue and they took care of her right away. They are professional, knowledgable and most importantly honest, and exactly the kind of shop you want your child to have access to! (We wish we lived closer so we could use them) Cannot recommend them enough, and our daughter has taken to recommending them to all her friends.

I have taken my car here 2 times. The first was an air leak that they had resolved in two days back in september of 2022. I have a 2012 chevy sonic LTZ so it breaks down A LOT. It broke down in May of 2022, and normally does so about every 4 months (yes, I should get another car). However, Wicke helped my car run for over a year without any issues which surprised me. I recently took my car back to have it looked at after my check engine light came on. They ran many tests on it over a few days and they could not find the issue (common for small dealerships because they do not have the trademarked tech to be able to run more in depth diagnostics). So, they recommended I take it to the car dealership (Don Brown). My experience with Don Brown has been AWFUL (they have had my car for two weeks with no offer for a rental, discount, etc.). It is not Wicke's fault by any means, but definitely a side note to avoid Don Brown or any dealership because they are charging me over $800 in labor alone to replace a fuel pump (about a 2 hour job), told me they could "remove the corrosion on my battery" for 40, and "repair" my struts for 300. Needless to say, if I have say, I will only ever bring my car to Wicke. They never charged me for all the diagnostics, so I had them replace my windshield wipers just to try and compensate them a tiny bit. I have had my friend go to Wicke now, and she refuses to go anywhere else. Cannot recommend enough.

Jeff Wicke has been incredibly helpful to me. He showed me what was wrong and had me look at the broken parts. Unfortunately I had to get the car towed to the dealership as it needed work done exclusively by Chevrolet but he even offered to call them and explain everything to them as I wasn't totally understanding it. Took a different car there a few years ago and was equally as pleased. I will be back!

No appointments needed; first come, first serve. Very helpful and friendly staff. Also, they always give treats to my dog! In a good location and easy to find. They don't have a working relationship with rental car companies, so if the labor takes longer than a day, you'll need to take care of that separately, but otherwise Wicke is a great local neighborhood auto body shop.

As a new resident of Missouri and Saint Louis I had a lot of trouble finding a mechanic and shop that was honest, knowledgeable and reliable. After my car broke down due to a large pot hole that caused electrical failure in the system I was told by one of my new neighbors to use Wicke Auto Service. I walked into the shop and was welcomed with a genuine smile from Jeff. I explained what had happened and asked if they could investigate and repair. The team ran diagnostics, changed out my spark plugs, and vacuumed the excess oil. When I came back in to follow up Jeff informed me of a compression issue in Cylinder 4. He spent a good deal of time explaining what that meant, the tests they did and what he would recommend. I didn't feel cheated or that I was being taken advantage of. After leaving the shop I left more knowledgeable and confident in the resolution for my vehicle. The team was courteous, knowledgeable and professional. I would highly recommend using this shop for any of your repair needs and that includes daily maintenance like oil changes.

Jeff is incredible. I had the unfortunate experience of having my Kia stolen & damaged, due to the overwhelming prevalence of that happening I had already called several other shops to see if they could do the repairs (most places were estimating 6-7 weeks before they could ever look at my car!) before I called Wicke. I explained the situation to Jeff & asked him if he thought he'd be able to have it fixed within a month (that's how long insurance covered my rental for). He said it'd be a tight time frame but that I could bring my car in anyway. Throughout the weeks he was consistent with reaching out with updates & estimated completion times- he was ultimately able to get my car back to me the day before I had to return my rental. I can't recommend him enough!

Absolute wonderful experience! I brought my car in for an inspection with the fear that the dealership I purchased it from was not 100% forthcoming with the extent of repairs that had been performed on the car. It looks great and the cost was reasonable. This 4-star review would've easily been a 5+ star review had I been updated when the completion schedule began to slip. The fastest service I have ever had. I had a nail in one of my tires, left my car with them first thing in the morning. They did the work within 40 minutes. Charges: $35, very reasonable. I don't live in Saint Louis, but I visit every weekend since my wife stays here. I might end up getting subsequent servicing done here with them.

Wicke Auto is the best!! Car shops can be stressful at times but these guys are honest, helpful, professional, and just wonderful. My three experiences with them so far have all been wonderful: 1. My old Chevy Venture had an issue that they correctly identified, told me they could fix it but that it wasn't worth the repair cost with the overall state of the car, and saved me potentially 1000s of dollars! There was no charge and no benefit to them, but they gave me exactly the advice I needed. 2. When I got my new (used) car, I had them look at it and they gave me accurate info on what I could expect to go wrong in the near future, and the overall value of the car. 3. That used car ended up having an issue with an air/fuel ratio error code. Not only did they take the time to thoroughly diagnose what the actual issue was (it wasn't the sensor itself), they recommended that I take it to a different shop for the actual repair, as they would have to buy an expensive part ($975), but a different place with the right tools could probably fix it for $100. Once again, at no benefit to themselves, they saved me time and money. I cannot recommend these guys highly enough. If you want a shop you can trust, this is the place. They are there to help and they have certainly earned my business for as long as I have car problems to deal with!

Guido's is a St. Louis Staple located in the Italian neighborhood the Hill. It doesn't matter whether you order their classic and creative Italian fare, their delicious tapas of Spanish influence, an exquisite desert, or just a down home delicious burger, the food will always be brilliant, and the service friendly and efficient. (It was after 3 pm) Once I got there not only did they repair my regular tire, they also repaired my spare and refused any payment. Probably the most honest shop I've ever been to. I've gone to them several times, when they've done work on my car they are a little above average in price but they use good quality equipment whereas several other shops I have gone to have used brands I've never even heard of and can't even find on car parts sites like RockAuto or at local parts stores. I've gone in several times where they haven't even bothered to charge me for work. Had a weird noise coming from a wheel and thought it might have been a cv axle, they drove it for a few minutes, determined it was from a missing clip on the hub cap and didn't charge me. Went to have a pre-purchase inspection done on a used car and an emissions test if they thought the car was in good shape. Unfortunately the state's emissions system was down, it wasn't Wicke's fault but they did the pre-purchase inspection for free to make up for it. Went there for a fuel pump job and they were honest about a factory recall that was offered on my make and model but didn't include my VIN, they could have taken the job but instead suggested I try the Chevy dealer first to see if they would replace the pump for free. The dealership did end up replacing it for free thanks to Wicke's advice. Can't give this place enough praise about how honest and awesome they are.

My car was experiencing intermittent stalling, so I had Wicke perform diagnostics to determine the cause. They couldn't recreate the issue so couldn't determine a definitive root cause to the stalling. However, they noted a piston slap/upper motor valve noise that they said was likely related to a class action lawsuit my vehicle was currently under and recommended me taking it to the dealership to confirm. They even dissuaded me from having them do an oil change to check for metal shavings because the dealer would want that proof first hand. I got it checked by the dealer. Sure enough, the engine needed replacing and was covered under warranty/lawsuit. These guys seemed to be professional, knowledgeable, and have my best interest in mind when providing advice and services.

These folks are super heroes! The old battery in my car died, stranding me far from home, frustratingly only a block from the shop, and in a snowstorm. While I waited for roadside assistance, I called to check if they had time for me before closing down with the storm. Not only did they send someone to jump my car in place of roadside assistance, but they also got all my paperwork done over the phone so it would be ready when I arrived. This expedited the arrival of the battery my car required, and it was replaced within hours! Truly, they were so friendly, kind, and understanding. The price quoted to me over the phone was accurate to the price I was charged after they installed the battery, and similar to other similar services at other locations, and I felt totally reasonable during a blizzard. The four stars, despite the quality of service, was that I only saw one person wearing a mask indoors once, and when I paid no one was wearing a mask. Basically nobody was there, but this is a pandemic I would have felt significantly safer if they had all been wearing masks. Regardless, I am so grateful, and certainly would do business with them again!

Got my car taken in for inspection in August. Service was timely and price was as advertised. I saw some reviews which made me skeptical at first, but from my experience, Gary and the team have been nothing but awesome, fair, and honest. Just took my car in last night to be worked on for a punctured tire and Gary called me first thing this morning, took care of it right away, and only charged me $25 for a patch and testing and said there was no need for a replacement or any other work and that I could come pick it up whenever I was available. Will update this if anything changes, but I will definitely be returning for future service!

Me my mom and her boyfriend have been taking our vehicles to Wicke for years the other day my mom's car started to die every hundred feet and it was about 4:50 p.m. I called them and let them know who we were and they let us come drop the car off at the shop after closing hours then were nice enough to let us get all the groceries out of the car which I feel bad about because we kept them there 30 minutes after they closed so that should just show you how much they appreciate repeat business and develop a business relationship with regulars which is very professional in my opinion.

Awesome people and awesome service! I went in today with my 99 honda crv and the driver side window was stuck in the down position. He said they might not be able to do it today but they would try and to wait an hour. An hour later the window was fixed in the upright postion! Not a permanant fix but better than nothing. Plus they cleaned my window spotless! Will definitely come back for more service in the future!

Taken my 18-year-old vehicle there several times and am always happy. Technicians will point out potential problems, give accurate estimates, give their honest opinion about whether they would fix it if it were their own vehicle, and perform repairs in a very fast time. Pretty much always the same day for minor repairs. On top of that, it's always been less expensive and more friendly than a few other places I've tried in the area.
